The People Behind Nara
A great safari is defined not only by the wildlife you see, but by the people who guide your experience.
Narau Kimani Laizer - 800x1000Founder
Narau Kimani is a wildlife tourism professional, conservation advocate and visionary entrepreneur, graduating from the College of African Wildlife Management (Mweka). As Founder and Executive Director of Nara Tanzania Safaris, she leads a purpose-driven company that delivers exceptional safari experiences while advancing conservation, cultural preservation and meaningful community impact throughout Tanzania.
With extensive knowledge of Tanzania’s wildlife, ecosystems and cultural heritage, Narau curates authentic journeys that go beyond traditional safaris - connecting travellers with nature, local communities and the remarkable stories that define the country.
As Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Enduata Community Initiative Organization (ECIO), she champions education, women’s empowerment and community-led conservation. Through her leadership, ECIO helps expand opportunities for Maasai women and girls by addressing barriers to education, promoting sustainable livelihoods, and advocating against harmful practices such as early and forced marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM).
As one of the first educated women from her Maasai community to build a career in wildlife tourism and conservation, Narau has become a symbol of possibility and progress. Her leadership continues to demonstrate that responsible tourism can protect Tanzania’s natural heritage while transforming lives, empowering communities and creating a lasting legacy for future generations.
Every journey should inspire, educate, and leave a lasting positive impact.

Our guides
Our professional guide team is one of the greatest strengths of Nara Tanzania Safaris. Highly experienced, knowledgeable, passionate and genuinely kind, they do far more than lead game drives - they are storytellers, wildlife experts and conservation ambassadors.
With an extraordinary understanding of wildlife behaviour, ecosystems, birdlife, landscapes, history and culture, they know where to find remarkable wildlife encounters - and help you understand the stories behind every sighting. From the moment you arrive, they are dedicated to making you feel welcome, relaxed, safe and completely immersed in Tanzania.
Their greatest reward is not simply showing you Tanzania - it is watching you fall in love with it.
